What the university collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This policy explains how Annamalai University, Chidambaram, handles personal information collected through this website, through admission enquiries, and through the student records system. It applies to applicants, students, parents or guardians acting for a student, alumni, and visitors to the site.
The university is a public authority. Some of its record-keeping is governed by statute and by the Right to Information Act, 2005, and those obligations continue to apply alongside this policy.

We do not disclose personal information to third parties for marketing. Requests from the police or a court are answered only in writing and are recorded by the Registrar.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or complete it, ask us to erase it where we no longer need it, and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf. You may also withdraw a consent you gave earlier, though that does not affect processing already carried out.
