Governance

Governance

The officers, councils and committees through which the university is run.

How the university is run

Annamalai is governed under the Annamalai University Act, 1928, enacted as Tamil Nadu Act 1 of 1929. Day-to-day administration rests with the Vice-Chancellor, assisted by the Registrar, the Finance Officer and the Controller of Examinations. Policy decisions are taken by the Executive Council; academic decisions by the Academic Council.

The university publishes the minutes of both councils within thirty days of each meeting. Members of the public may inspect them at the Registrar's office on working days.
