Fetch your Annamalai degree, marksheets and certificates as verifiable digital documents.

What the National Academic Depository is

The National Academic Depository (NAD) is a Government of India system that stores academic awards in digital form. Annamalai uploads degrees, marksheets, migration certificates and provisional certificates to NAD, from where they can be fetched into DigiLocker.

A DigiLocker document is not a scan of a certificate. It is issued directly by the university and signed digitally, so an employer or another university can verify it without writing to us. The document carries a QR code and a unique identifier that resolve to the NAD record.

Awards issued before 2019 are being uploaded in batches by faculty. If your document is missing, request it through the examination office rather than uploading a photograph of your marksheet, which has no evidentiary value.

How to fetch your documents

Step 01

Create an account

Register on digilocker.gov.in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. The account must be in your own name.

Step 02

Find Annamalai

Search for 'Annamalai University' under the Education category, then choose the document type you need.

Step 03

Verify your identity

Enter your roll number and year of passing exactly as printed on your marksheet. Three failed attempts lock the request for 24 hours.

Step 04

Save or share

The document appears in your Issued Documents folder. Share it by QR code or a time-limited link.

DigiLocker FAQs

My document is not in DigiLocker. What should I do?

+

Awards issued before 2019 are uploaded in batches. Write to nad@annamalaiuniversityedu.org with your roll number, year of passing and programme. Most requests are completed within ten working days, and you will receive an SMS when the document is available.

Is a DigiLocker marksheet accepted for admission elsewhere?

+

Yes. Under UGC regulations, a NAD-issued document is treated as equivalent to the original. The receiving institution verifies it through the QR code or the NAD portal rather than by asking you for a attested copy.

The name on my DigiLocker account differs from my marksheet.

+

The name on the document is taken from the university record, not from your DigiLocker profile, so a mismatch in your profile does not affect the document. If the university record itself is wrong, apply for a correction at the examination office with proof of the correct spelling.

Can I still get a printed degree?

+

Yes. DigiLocker does not replace the printed degree. The original is issued at the convocation, or by registered post if you cannot attend. Apply at the examination office; there is no charge for the first issue.

Is there a fee for fetching documents?

+

No. Fetching a document from NAD is free. The university charges only for printed duplicates, corrections to a record, and courier delivery of a hard copy.

Documents missing from NAD, or records that need correcting, are handled by the examination office.
